DIY Dishwasher tablets using doTERRA essential oils

This is another super simple DIY recipe to cut the amount of chemicals you use in your home and reduce toxicity in the environment. Not only to these homemade tabs do a great job on your dishes, you dishwasher will smell amazing also!

Dishwasher tablet recipe

  • 2 Cups all natural super washing soda (Arm & Hammer brand is what I use)
  • 2 Cups borax
  • 2 Cups Epsom salts
  • 4T 100% lemon juice
  • 20 drops Lemon essential oil

Combine the first 3 ingredients. This combo can get fairly airborne, so I usually use a large Ziploc bag.

Add the Lemon essential oil.

Add the lemon juice, enough to make a paste (you may need more or less than 4T.)

The best way to form the tabs is to press the mixture into ice cube trays, and leave for a couple of days to dry out.
